Why it is not a chatbot

Ask Hikari is the anti-chatbot.

The opposable rules below come from the Hikari Blue site charter, §16bis. They are the conditions under which we accept a conversational AI surface on the site at all.

  • No floating pill, no mascot

    Ask Hikari is invoked by ⌘K or by a discrete nav link. It does not live in a corner of the screen pretending to be a friendly companion. The visitor decides when to ask. We do not interrupt.

  • No auth gate before the first answer

    The first question is free. No email capture, no SSO, no signup. We ask for contact details only if you want a named partner to follow up.

  • No false generation theatre

    Multi-model orchestration is server-side. We do not perform typing animations to feel intelligent. We return the structured brief and the routing, not a performance.

  • No mailing list ambush

    Asking does not add you to a newsletter. The platform never auto-subscribes anyone. If we share a piece of writing, it is because you asked for it.

  • Which models power Ask Hikari?

    Multi-model by architecture. Anthropic Claude is the default. OpenAI, Mistral, Google Vertex are available as fallbacks. Model selection happens server-side based on task, risk profile and cost.

  • Is my question stored?

    Yes, briefly, for the partner who will read it. Retention follows our privacy notice. No third-party data sharing. No model training on your input.

  • Can I share the answer?

    Yes. You can download the structured brief as a PDF from within the overlay. The brief is auto-generated and marked as such. A partner-reviewed version follows by email if you leave contact details.

  • Why is the URL still /ask?

    This page exists so search engines and AI search engines (Perplexity, ChatGPT search, Claude, Gemini) can cite a stable URL for "what is Ask Hikari". The interactive experience itself is the in-page overlay, opened by ⌘K.
